New Development in the Sino-Australia Program

On September 14, 2005, Mr. Desai, the Vice Dean of Accounting School of Curtin University of Technology, Australia, and Mr. Zhang, the Deputy of Curtin University visited our school and consulted with the related staff members about further cooperation between the two universities. Mr. Yin Ping, the Vice President, and the staff members from Administration, the Deans Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), the School of Accounting and the Department of Foreign Languages attended the meeting.

On the night of September 14, Mr. Desai met the freshmen of 2005 of the Sino-Australia Course and their parents at Pukou Campus. Vice Dean Mr. Desai, Dean of the School of Accounting Mr. Yang Zheng and Deputy Director of the OICE Ms Pei Wenying answered questions raised by the students and their parents in detail. Meanwhile, Mr. Desai expressed his satisfaction at the new students good expression in English.

On the afternoon of Sep 15, Mr. Desai had an informal discussion about teaching and study matters with the related principals and teachers from Administration, the Deans Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), the School of Accounting and the Department of Foreign Languages. At the same time, detailed discussions were made as for how to help the Sino-Australia students of 2004 to improve the pass rate of IELTSand CUTE, how to arrange teachers of Curtin University to teach specialized subjects in NAU, and how to register Sino-Australia students as students of Curtin University of Technology. Mr. Desai and other guests also met the Sino-Australia students of 2004. After the meeting, the guests visited the Language Lab invested by NAU for the Sino-Australia students.

After discussions and the visit, the guests not only highly praised the management of Sino-Australia program, the arrangement and investment of teaching, and the achievement of students, but expected that NAU will send more first-rank teachers to visit their university. Both sides were confident to be able to run the Sino-Australia program well and do a solid and truthful job.
