The Shanghai International Shipping Forum 2010 was held successfully through March 24th and 25th, 2010. This forum was hosted by Ministry of Transport and Shanghai Municipal Government and co-organized by Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission, Shanghai Hongkou Government, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Maritime University.

This forum is conducted based on the two hot spot issues Construction of International Shipping Center and Construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center. Mr. Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, delivered a welcoming speech and extended his wish for a greater progress in the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center. Mr. Li Shenglin, Minister of MOC, gave a brilliant speech on Development of Shipping Industry in China and Construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center.

Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU, gave a keynote speech on the Rotterdam Rules and Shipping Industry in China. Prof. Huang Youfang, Vice President of SMU attended the forum and presided over the seminar of Development of International Shipping Center under Globalization. During the forum, representatives from global authoritative shipping consultancy organizations, well-known scholars and government officials gave informative speeches and offered substantial precious advices for the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center.
