Foreign Delegates of Two Confucius Institutes Visit Our University

On December 8 and 9, vice president of University of Minnesota Meredith Mcquade, and director of its Confucius Institute Joan Brzezinski, director of Confucius Institute of Peruvian University of Piura Julio Valladares, visited our university in succession. Dean of International Education College Liu Xiaotian, Chinese director of Confucius Institute of University of Minnesota Wang Yu, Chinese director of Confucius Institute of University of Piura Ma Zheng held friendly talks with the visiting guests.

The two parties discussed the issues of Confucius Institute at its starting phase, sending of Chinese directors, the unveiling ceremony of Confucius Institute in University of Piura, etc.

The two Confucius Institutes are just at their starting stages, so their delegates all expected to take this visiting as a chance to study, communicate, and discuss relevant issues with their Chinese cooperative universities for strengthening the liaison. They also hope our university can supply powerful backup for their Confucius Institutes, such as communication, training, and staff assistance.
After talks, delegates from our university and foreign representatives from four Confucius Institutes jointly established with our school attended the Third Plenary Conference of Confucius Institutes in Beijing from December 9 to 11, an annual meeting of Confucius Institutes around the world.
