STU Awarded Title of Shantou Role Model

On March 30th, the Municipal Party Committee and city government of Shantou presented awards to those individuals and organizations that had made significant progress in ethical and cultural development. Shantou University was awarded an honorary title of Role Model of Shantou.

With support in past years from all levels of government and the Li Ka Shing Foundation, Shantou University has made remarkable achievements in leadership building, talent cultivation, program development, management system reform, campus cultural development and community service, while simultaneously focusing on its educational motto: Aspiration, Knowledge, Perseverance, Achievement . In this way, STU has made progress towards its goal of becoming one of China s and the world s leading universities.

The university has also made great contributions to the comprehensive development of Shantou s economy and to the government s efforts to create a happier local community.
