Recently, a SCUT delegation led by Vice president QIU Xueqing paid several visits to some Canadian universities. On Sept. 22, the delegation held a conference with leaders from the University of Waterloo (UW), including its President David Johnston, Chancellor Feridun Hamdullahpur, and Vice president Leo Rothenburg in charge of international exchanges. The two universities signed cooperation memorandum and planned to carry out the "3+2" undergraduate-postgraduate and student exchange programs in many engineering majors.
On Sept. 23, the delegation visited McMaster University and had an in-depth discussion with its Vice President for international exchanges Luk Chan and the Dean of the School of Engineering with regard to the joint cultivation of students, cooperative scientific research, etc. Initial cooperative intentions have been reached.
