SCUT adds 3 college characteristic specialties for development

Recently, Ministry of Education issued the list of 4th college characteristic specialty for development. Three specialties of SCUT were selected, namely, Material Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Automation. Up to now, 11 specialties of our university have been authorized as college characteristic specialty for development.

The development of college characteristic specialty was launched by Ministry of Education in 2007, aiming at guiding universities and colleges of different levels and types to specify the school orientations, to set characteristic development goals, and to give full play to specialty advantages. In 2009, 671 specialties of the universities and colleges around China were authorized as 4th college characteristic specialty for development.
