Architectural Design Institute receives important architectural awards

Recently, the awarding ceremony of two important architectural awards -- "The Architectural Creation Award of Architectural Society of China" and "Blue-star Cup 5^th International Architectural Design Award, Weihai", was held on the 5^th International Habitat Festival, Weihai. SCUT Architectural Design Institute (ADI) achieved good results in the selection.

"The Architectural Creation Award of Architectural Society of China" awards highest prizes to excellent modern architectural works since the founding of new China, aiming at giving a comprehensive review and an intensive conclusion of the architectural achievements during the past six decades. Three hundred works won prizes, including Great Hall of the People, Monument of the People's Heroes, etc. Fifteen projects including "The Extension of Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall" designed by SCUT ADI won prizes, making it the biggest winner in the competition.

"Blue-star Cup 5^th International Architecture Design Award, Weihai" was jointly held by Architectural Society of China, Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong Province, and Weihai municipal government. The review committee consisting of academicians, architectural masters, and domestic and foreign famous designers finally selected 2 winners for gold prize, 5 for silver prize, 10 for bronze prize, and 71 for honorable prize. "The Extension of Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall" and "Changchun cemetery of revolutionary martyrs project and Tongling Museum Project", designed by academician HE Jingtang's team, won the gold prize and silver prize respectively.

The outstanding achievements fully prove that SCUT ADI possesses a high status and has great influence in the field of domestic architectural design. These prizes serve as a special birthday gift for the coming 30^th anniversary of ADI.
