The four-wheeled-three-axised lunar rover developed by Hunan University was exhibited successively in the 2010 China (Hefei) Hi-tech Fair Featuring Innovation Factors during Nov.2-4, and the 4th China (Wuhu) Popularized Science Products Exposition from Nov.12 to Nov.14.
The R& D of the rover was supported by the Ministry of Education as one of the national key scientific and technological projects of Ministry of Science and Technology.
The rover is unique for its novel design, simple structure, light weight, agility, flexibility, and adeptness at climbing slopes and steering away from obstacles. It became an eye-catcher at the exhibition, drawing many visitors as well as much media attention.
It is revealed that nearly 300 attending units exhibited their recent popular science products in this year's fair. The fair is also participated by over 1,000 institutions of higher education, scientific research institutions and enterprises from 13 provinces of China, Japan and Taiwan. 47 special booths and 1000-plus standard booths were set up, hitting a record high over the previous fairs.
