Sears Canada offers free bra fittings to help Canadian women feel comfortable in their most neglected undergarment.
According to Sears Canada, an estimated 70 per cent of Canadian women wear the wrong size bra. On March 20th, Sears Canada is encouraging women to renovate their spring wardrobe - beginning with finding the perfect bra through a free consultation from a Sears Canada Bra Fitting Expert.
Many women use March as a time to buy new spring clothes and accessories, often ignoring the most important garment: their bra.
"Buying a bra can be frustrating because the majority of women don't know what their correct size is," says Liz Huha, Product Manager, Women's Intimate Apparel. "Many women have been wearing the wrong size for years but don't realize it because they have never been properly measured, or they don't have annual fittings to ensure their size hasn't changed."
Sears Canada's Bra Fitting Experts know that Canadian women come in all shapes and sizes and finding the right size bra takes several steps. It's important to visit a professional bra fitter annually to ensure you are wearing a size and style that best suits your individual needs.
Luckily, there are some telltale signs to help determine if a bra does not fit properly:
• Spillage: Breasts should not spill out over the top, bottom or side of the bra, causing the dreaded "four-breast" effect
• Poking and Digging: Check that the underwire rests flat against the body and doesn't cut or dig into the skin which can cause pain and discomfort

• Band Riding Up: If the back strap rides higher than the bottom of the cups, you may be wearing the wrong band size
• Strap Discomfort: Your straps should never dig in leaving red marks that can cause discomfort
• Puckering: The cups shouldn't wrinkle or pucker. The bra should appear smooth underneath a T-shirt
"If a woman notices any of these signs when wearing a bra, the bra needs to be replaced and she should be re-fitted for her correct measurements," says Huha.
"Women who wear a bra that fits properly will not only feel more comfortable, they'll also feel more confident about their appearance."
To find your perfect fit, visit a participating Sears Canada location on March 20th to meet with a Bra Fitting Expert who can ensure, that this spring, the most important part of your outfit is not neglected.
