Casual Gear, a new apparel line featuring casual basics for men and women, will be arriving in Walgreens stores across the country next week. The line developed exclusively for Walgreens features tried-and-true favorites including long- and short-sleeve t-shirts; tank tops; track, yoga and lounge pants; zip-up hoodies; quilted vests and more, all made with high-quality fabrics in colors that are easy to mix and match.
The collection will debut with 15 core classic styles, each available in two or three colors.
“This is an exciting launch for Walgreens,” said Kathy Steirly, divisional vice president and general merchandise manager for Walgreens beauty and fashion division. “Casual Gear taps into the demand for quick access to versatile, easy-to-wear clothing that suits today’s active lifestyles. This line delivers an outstanding combination of comfort, convenience, quality and value we believe customers will appreciate.”
Though Casual Gear is its first complete apparel collection available chainwide, Walgreens has seen success with promotional, licensed and seasonal apparel items for many years. Convenient access to casual staples at affordable prices has strong appeal for Walgreens busy, value-driven core customers. This new line brings more consistency in quality and availability to Walgreens apparel selection, making it attractive to even more shoppers.
The Casual Gear collection was created in conjunction with San Francisco-based wonderbrand - one of the country’s leading apparel development and branding firms.
"Casual Gear is a solid, common sense strategy that we are proud to be a part of," says Nick Graham, CEO of wonderbrand. "We took extraordinary care to develop the right product mix that would speak to Walgreens broad customer base. This line is a natural fit for a national chain known for convenience and value."
Walgreens will feature Casual Gear in nearly all of its 6,200 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The collection will be merchandised in either a six- or nine-foot display adjacent to the beauty or promotional departments.
