Her theme was 'My Village', but the creations were far from rustic, when Rimzim Dadu unveiled her Autumn/Winter 2008 collection at the Lakme Fashion Week.
It was an unbelievable story of amazing texturing of knits and woven fabrics in perfect autumn colours of brown, black, cobalt, grey, deep green with a hint of red.
Starting with a striking textured woven mini Rimzim continued the theme with brown and black interwoven weave dresses; some with quilting and criss cross patterns.
The slinky brown dress with the low back and all over tulip pleating was sensational, while the textured pear shaped mini dress, the deep green bubble smock; the shredded appliqué mini and the coat dress with large collar were outstanding.
While the former garments were heavy, the latter line comprised grey and white printed cotton gathered dresses, a red/grey zig zag design summer smock and a grey patch weave outfit.
Besides the clever treatment for the garments, Rimzim paid attention to the sleeves, treating them with smocking, pleating and quilting to add to the intricate designing of the complete garment.
My Village will surely be a good seller for Rimzim Dadu on all sides of the global markets as its detailing, designing, finish and beauty were of international standard and just perfect for the coming season.
