Ticona is represented at Index this year together with Celanese Emulsions, for the first time. Under the slogan “Your future is our focus … worldwide” both companies are exhibiting promising developments for nonwovens on the same booth. While Ticona is showcasing engineering polymers as the starting material for fibers and downstream products, Celanese Emulsions is presenting the innovative ways in which emulsions can be used as primary bonding agents or add functional properties to nonwovens and paper specialties.
At this leading trade show for nonwovens, Celanese Emulsions will focus mainly on innovation for both disposable and durable goods. Ticona, on the other hand, will concentrate on the theme of hightech polymers for filtration and isolation and processing technologies such as meltblown, spunbond, wetlaid and drylaid. The polymer producer will organize its display under the headings of “Air pollution control”, “Reliability in harsh environments”, and “Filter efficiency and long service life”.
Ticona: filtration in challenging environments
A good example of the impressive performance offered by Fortron PPS can be seen in filter hoses for coal-fired power stations. In this application, Fortron polymers have been providing outstanding service for years with their good filter efficiency, long service life and resistance to gases and acids. Similar advantages are gained with meltblown nonwovens produced from Celanex PBT.
When used in fuel filters, they reliably protect modern car engines from organic and inorganic contaminants and so meet the increasing requirements specified by the automotive industry for filter efficiency and service life.
