Mr.Wlodzimierz Madziar, Second Secretary of Poland Embassy in India said in Ahmedabad, that the scope for further increasing economic co-operation between Gujarat and Poland is very bright.
Speaking at an Interactive Session on Indo-Polish Trade Cooperation, organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry he said that Poland is a big manufacturer of various types of machinaries.
Gujarat can import machinery for open cast mines and deep mining, power plants and food processing industry. Moreover Poland can also supply textile machinery, cranes and other equipments for ports. On the export front Gujarat can take advantage of the large market for cotton yarn and textiles in Poland.
Mr.Madziar said that India’s share in total export of Poland is about 0.12% while its share in its imports is about 0.43%. Poland is a bridge between Western & Eastern Europe and because of its geographical location it facilitates export to various European countries.
He said that Poland is in a position to export machineries for coal mines, railways, ships and transport sector to India. Scope for increased trade between two countries has widened following the signing of Bilateral trade agreement in 2006.
Earlier in his welcome address the Chamber Vice President Shri Samir N. Patel said that there is immense scope of diversifying and deepening our bilateral trade and investment. He referred to the strong position of Gujarat in pharmaceutical,chemicals,dyes and dyestuffs, textile, engineering goods etc. and offered all its help to Poland in these sectors.
