Six people were dead and two were missing in a flood that hit northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 26, said local authorities Monday.
Torrential rains pounded Akto County from July 26 to 27, triggered flooding, damaged houses and mines, according to the committee of the Communist Party of China of Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture which administers the county.
