To celebrate the "International Children's Day", the North Sea Nursery School held the first "Happy Day" festival. With the spirit of "teaching children to be the best of themselves through happiness", the nursery school designed a lot of activities for the children there, which target different age groups, different characteristics and different interests of the children, promoting their independence and initiative. The activities are also designed to teach children from "finding happiness" to "experiencing the joy" to "infecting others with their own happiness". The nursery school s "happy garden party", which is held on May 26th, has brought the festival to its climax.
Activities varied according to different age groups. The youngest children were led by their teacher to play games and sang songs in a relaxed way of participation. Older children in junior classes created the scene of "Happy sheep and Grey Wolf", which is a cartoon movie they all like, and role-played the movie. Through the participation, the children exercised their bodies and felt the joy of the game. Children in the middle class of the nursery school were taught to use cameras or their own eyes to capture the happy moments in their lives. Senior class children have participated in the "Low-carbon life competition", in which they came up with a variety of ideas of water saving, recycling.
During the day of the "happy garden party , the nursery school chose a variety of well-designed game, such as handicraft-square, invention corner, art galleries, libraries, chef s home and English corner. All the children can choose the game according to their own interest; even junior classes experience the joy under the care of their teachers. Some senior class children can even bake snacks and make drinks for other children and guests at the party.
