Culture Rescued After Quake

The reconstruction of Mianyang, one of the worst quake-hit areas in Sichuan earthquake, has seen early results in recent month. Related exhibition is now on show on Xidan Culture Square. The main part of the exhibition is a report-back performance of the reconstruction in Mianyang and also presents the ancient culture of Qiang nationallity. The Qiang ethnic minority lives mainly in the counties of the Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan. The culture of the Qiang nationality suffered a near fatal blow from the earthquake on May 12, 2008. China is now spare no effort to save the quake-threatened culture of the Qiang people in Sichuan Province.

A full-length song and dance drama named Da Beichuan, which tells a beautiful story of the Qiang people, will be on stage in Beijing Baoli Theater from April 1st to 3rd.
