The Lao Xi an Restaurant was opened in October in 1954 and it was located in No.20, Xinjiekou South Street at that time. It was the first restaurant in Beijing that sells Mutton Soup with Bread. Chairman Mao once came to this restaurant and ordered pig kidney, stewed beef.
After half a century s development, it is one of the famous restaurants in Beijing City with a lot of regular customers everyday.
The restaurant was closed for a face-lift in 2009 and reopened on march 12st.
