The Municipal Bureau of Culture Heritage announced 31 more cultural relic preservation sites Tuesday. It is the eighth update to the city's list of cultural heritage sites.

Nearly half of the new editions are courtyards and former residences of renowned historical figures, marking a shift in attention from grand palaces and temples.

Shaoxing Guildhouse, where essayist and social critic Lu Xun (1881 1936) lived in the late 1910s, and the residence of educator Cai Yuanpei (1868 - 1940) during his tenure as president of Peking University are among those listed.
