The Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site administration office announced Saturday it is seeking proposals to help protect the cave, which is facing collapse due to erosion, the Beijing News reported.
The cave is the site where the prehistoric Peking Man skull was discovered in 1929. Nearly 200 relics, thousands of stoneware samples and hundreds of fossils have been unearthed since 1921.
Authorities are searching for a way to keep rain out but maintain ventilation. The solicitation will end May 31.
