Beijing Subway authorities announced Monday they would consider implementing one-way entrance and exits at some stations on its 12 lines during peak commuting hours, the Legal Mirror reported.

Yet another measure to manage passenger flow, the measure guides commuters into stations through designated entrances while diverting people through specified exits.

The new measure was put into practice Friday evening at Dongzhimen Station on Line 2, where portals A and B were made entrances while C was designated as an exit until traffic abated.

Beijing has been enforcing daily traffic management measures since November 7 last year. Tactics include placing fences and barriers outside entrances, temporarily closing entrances to reduce crowding on the platform and skipping stops on busy lines.

The new measure will be implemented at Beijing Railway Station, Qianmen and the Tiananmen stations, the newspaper reported.

Daily passenger flow control measures now affect 37 subway stations citywide. No regular methods are currently being enforced at any stations on the Line 4 and Daxing Line, which are managed by the mainland-Hong Kong joint venture Beijing MTR Corporation so far.
