Earthquake exhibits in the city's museums saw a sharp increase in visitor traffic, as many are eager to learn emergency evacuation procedures following the recent devastating earthquakes in Japan and Yunnan Province.

"I did not know what to say when my 10-year-old daughter asked me about what to do in case of an earthquake," a resident surnamed Zhang, who visited the "earthquake experi-ence exhibit" with her daughter at the China Fire Museum, told the Legal Mirror.

An employee at the China Fire Museum said an increased number of visitors came for the earthquake exhibit last week, while more than 700 visitors visited on Sunday alone.

The China Fire Museum in Xicheng district utilizes multi-media technologies to create a virtual earthquake through motion simulators, as instructors teach visitors correct evacuation procedures.

Operators at the Beijing Municipal Education and Training Center for Firefighting at Daxing district have experienced an increase in phone calls from companies and local communi-ties inquiring about their earth-quake exhibit this week.

The center only accepts group visits on weekdays.

However, to reserve a free ticket to the China Fire Museum, visitors can log on their official website at www.cfm119. com, call 66267926, or visit the museum's reception desk.

The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, and the earthquake exhibit is held at 10 am and 3 pm on weekdays.
