Shijingshan district procuratorate sued two ex-soldiers for cheating a manager out of over 2 million yuan ($304,419) after claiming they could help enroll his daughter in a military school, the Beijing Evening News reported Saturday.
The manager with a Shanghai company entrusted his friend surnamed Xie to aid his daughter, who suffered from bad grades, to enroll in a military university in March 2010. Xie introduced him to another ex-soldier surnamed Wang.
The manager paid 2.58 million yuan and signed a contract with Wang. Although the daughter completed her training in September, she was told it was not for credit.
