The capital saw 534,000 visitors during the first two months of this year, a 2.2 percent increase year on year, Xinhua News Agency reported Thursday.
This number included 447,000 from foreign countries, up 6 percent year on year, and 87,000 from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, down 14 percent.
Between January and February, Beijing received 70,000 tourists from the US, up 12.9 percent year on year, 69,000 from the South Korea, up 9.6 percent, and 50,000 from Japan, down 16.8 percent.
