More than 1,100 Pirated Optical Discs Seized at Airport (with photo)

Recently, when exercising supervision and control over Flight JL798 (Dalian-Tokyo), officers of Dalian International Airport Customs House intercepted more than 1,100 pirated optical discs in the luggage of 3 Japanese passengers, most of which are about TV plays, movies and Japanese cartoons. This case is the largest one of its kind that Dalian International Airport Customs House has ever encountered. The case has already been transferred to relevant departments for further investigation and handling.

According to the statistics, since the General Administration of Customs of People s Republic of China started the Dragon Boat Action to enhance IPR protection on 1st October 2007, Dalian International Airport Customs House has ferreted out 42 suspected infringement cases and seized 3,625 pieces of infringed articles which include counterfeit Fuwa (mascot of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games), mobile phones, watches, leather products and pirated game discs.
