The Workshop of Corruption Prevention for Asian and African Countries Came Back to Beijing after the visit in Zhejiang and Shanghai (Photos)

On November 24, 2008, the representatives of the Workshop of Corruption Prevention for Asian and African Countries reached Hangzhou City to continue surveying the anti-corruption work of local authorities. Zhejiang Provincial Department of Supervision presided over a conference to introduce the situation of Zhejiang Province, the basic information of the supervision organs of the province and the work of combating corruption and upholding integrity. Heads of General Office, Research Office, Law and Regulation Office, Publicity and Education Office, Work Style Rectification Office, Law Enforcement Office, Efficiency Improvement Office and Archive Office participated in the conference and answered questions on bid invitation and submission in project construction, administrative examination and approval and case survey. During the interaction, a representative from Viet Nam said that he was expecting another opportunity to be invited to China to study related experience. A representative from Pakistan noted that Pakistan did not have good practice in standardizing bid invitation and submission and hope to learn China s experience. A representative from Tanzania indicated that the representatives had learned a lot of experience and he would suggest his own country to learn China s experience after he came back. He also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception to Zhejiang Provincial Department of Supervision on behalf all the foreign representatives.

On November 26, the delegation went to Ningbo City. Assistant Mayor Fu Kai met with the delegation and introduced the situation, economic and social development and the work of combating corruption and upholding integrity of the city. He also answered questions on corruption prevention in private companies, bribery prevention in customs and case surveys.

At noon of November 27, 2008, the delegation reached Shanghai to continue the survey. Heads of Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Commission of Supervision held a conference to introduce the situation of Shanghai and the work of corruption prevention work, and answered questions on bid invitation and submission, project releasing and contracting, bribery of private business owners, clean governance construction in rural areas, supervision on fixed asset investment and high salary for clean governance.

Heads of the Comprehensive Supervision Office, Research Office, Law Enforcement Office, Work Style Rectification Office and the Office of Party s Work Style and Clean Governance attended the conference. In Shanghai, the representatives also took the magnetic suspension train. They were very excited, saying that this was their best memory in their life.

A representative from Botswana said that China possess rather advanced ruling concept and introduced the most advanced transportation tools in the world which benefit the people. This is really amazing.
