The International Conference of China-U.S. Computer Science and Education is Held in Beijing

Initiated by professor Lin Qun of Chinese Academy of Social Science, and co-sponsored by Capital Normal University of China and Ohio University of America, the International Conference of China-U.S. Computer Science and Education was held from October 29th to October 31st in Capital Normal University. Over 70 representatives from 12 countries and regions attended this conference, including professor Shi Zhongci and Lin Qun from Chinese Academy of Social Science, professor Ying Long an from Pekin University, professor G.Strang from MIT of America, professor I.H. Sloan from the University of New South Wales of Australia, and among other world well-known mathematicians. Over 30 world famous experts on computer science and education were invited to make report at the conference. This event received financial support from the State Foundation Commission of America, the State Foundation Commission of China, the Foundation Commission of Beijing, the Education Commission of Beijing and Capital Normal University. Meanwhile, the conference opened a special forum for experts from the commissions of China and America. In the forum, representatives and officials from the commissions exchanged views and ideas on how to promote academic exchange between the two countries.

Computer science and education play an increasingly important role in modern science, technology and engineering. It serves as a most important bridge for mathematics and modern science. This international conference will help promote the development of talents on computer science and relevant research, thus bringing forward the academic exchange between China and America.
