On the morning of June 24, South China University of Technology (SCUT) 2010 Graduation Ceremony was held at the Sports & Recreation Center of North Campus and the Academic Auditorium of South Campus successively. Vice-president ZHANG Zhen-gang presided over the ceremony.
On the ceremony, President LI Yuanyuan extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates upon their full completion of the studies and praised highly of their outstanding performance in terms of exploring knowledge, pursuing progress and concerning about people s well-being.
SCUT Chairman WANG Yingjun awarded the honorary certificates and souvenirs to excellent graduates of national defense and graduates who volunteered to work in the west China. The 2010 SCUT graduates consist of over 6,200 undergraduates, 3,100 postgraduates and 56 overseas students from 21 countries. Among them, 20 participated in the Plan of University Students Volunteering to Serve the West, and 95 graduates of national defense chose to serve in the Army.
On the ceremony, the representatives of teachers, students and alumni expressed their teaching and studying sentiments respectively. The parent representatives also extended best wishes to the graduates on behalf of nearly ten thousand families.
