On Nov 3rd, a delegation led by CHEN Guangju, vice-president of Beijing Normal University (BNU) and president of Zhuhai campus, visited South China University of Technology (SCUT). Vice-president QIU Xueqing had an in-depth communication and discussion with the guests in terms of disciplinary complement, undergraduate quality education and students' social practice.
After extending a warm welcome to the delegation, QIU introduced to the guests the achievements of Project 985 in SCUT. Moreover, he shared with them the SCUT experience in innovative talents cultivation, personalized education, and "3+1+2" Undergraduate Engineering training.
Particularly, CHEN inquired about SCUT's strategy in encouraging students to take part in social practice and therefore get high-quality research achievements. Meanwhile, he made a breif introduction about the development of Zhuhai campus, BUN, and suggested that both universities start innovative instruction and disciplinary construction through disciplinary complement so as to improve the civil qualities as well as science and engineering basis of undergraduate education.
