Vice President of The Conference Board Paid Visit to NBS

Messrs. Xie Hongguang, Deputy Commissioner, and Yao Jingyuan, Chief Economist of National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) met with the visiting Delegation headed by Ms. Gail Fosler, Vice President of The Conference Board.

Mr. Xie Hongguang affirmed the corporation between the NBS and The Conference Board, and introduced the recent key works of the NBS to Ms. Fosler.

After listening to the introduction on relevant content of the draft understanding memorandum of The Conference Board from Ms. Fosler, Mr. Xie Hongguang said, the NBS need to seriously study the draft and will has further communication with The Conference Board; he also said that The Conference Board has many experts and experiences in the preparation of leading index, NBS hope to strengthen the cooperation in formulating this field, and could also explore other areas of cooperation in the meanwhile. Both sides agreed to discuss the cooperative research project on leading index.

Both sides also reviewed the four co-sponsored on China Economic Growth Forum in Suzhou, Beijing Statistics User Forum, research on capacity utilization, and micro-data using.

Messrs. Du Weiqun, Counsel, Department of International Cooperation; Wu Shihui, and Pan Jiancheng, Deputy Director-General, China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC) of NBS also attended meeting.
