Meeting of Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Advisory Committee Held in NBS

Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Working Group organized Project Advisory Committee meeting in NBS on April 12 2007. Mr. Xu Yifan, Deputy Commissioner of NBS presided the meeting.

Seven members in Advisory Committee were from the Renmin University of China (RUC), Communication University of China (CUC), People's Bank of China (PBC), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China Federation of Logistics and Procurement, China Hengtian Group Co., and China Machine-Building International Corporation (SMIC).

Mr. Xu Yifan issued offers of appointment to the Advisory Committee members, and explained the significance of the project. Mr. Du Weiqun, Counsel, Department of International Corporation introduced the overall status on Sino-Canadian statistics information management project; Mr. Meng Qingxin, Deputy Director-General, ServiceSurveyCenter introduced the process of economic statistics project; Ms. Tian Xiuhua, Director, Division of Social Services Statistics of Service Survey Center introduced the pilot goals of the project and questionnaires.

Working Group members exchanged point of views on the Project and the pilot survey with the Advisory Committee members, and the Advisory committee members gave their valuable suggestions from the perspectives of the users demands, data providers, and their own work experiences to the economic statistical project and pilot survey during the meeting.
