On 23 October, 2008, a contract of supplying 108 metro cars for mass transport of Zhujiang Delta was awarded to CNR in Guangzhou. The cars will be manufactured by CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd.
The cars will be running on 32.16 km inter-city underground line between Guangzhou and Foshan. There are six stops along the line. Aluminum alloy-bodied, the Type B metro train boasts a sitting capacity of 950 persons, with the maximum running speed of 80km/h
The 27 four-set metro cars will adopt Siemens transmission system.
