1st train for Nanjing Subway Line 2 delivered

CSR Puzhen is set to deliver 19 trains before the full operation of Nanjing Subway Line 2 in May 2010, with all 24 trains to be delivered in December 2010. As of May 2010, Nanjing s citizens will be able to take more cozy and advanced trains for Nanjing Subway Line 2.

The trains for Nanjing Subway Line 2 were optimized and perfected on the basis of the existing vehicles, with six improvements made in vehicle reliability, maintainability and appearance. Firstly, the upgraded traction system improves the capability of fault traction, when a train breaks down, it can hang out till the end of daily operation without being degraded; secondly, the control system, upgraded from monitoring orientation to control orientation, adopts the MVB train bus control technology to quicken information transmission and troubleshooting; thirdly, the braking system, upgraded from vehicle control to frame control, can boost braking performance and increase riding comfort; fourthly, the added electronic flash map facilitates destination identification; fifthly, the real-time transmission of fault data was added to bring ground service staff up to date on the fault information of trains and effectively instruct drivers and passengers in timely and fast troubleshooting; lastly, the CCTV vehicle image monitoring system was added.

Besides, the interior and exterior color design becomes more pleasant, the triple seat is changed into the sextuple seat, and the interior trim becomes more handsome.

CSR Puzhen Deputy General Manager Wang Xiaoyang delivered a speech on behalf of the suppliers at the ceremony, saying that the delivery of the first train for Nanjing Subway Line 2 was a new major achievement in the close partnership between CSR Puzhen and Shanghai Alstom, as well as another successful practice following the deliveries of Shanghai Pearl Line, Nanjing Subway Line 1, Shanghai Subway Line 1 and Shanghai Subway Line 2 extensions, marking a new breakthrough in Puzhen s subway manufacturing performance.

He also looked forward to a long-term partnership with Nanjing Metro to keep making new and greater contributions to the development of Nanjing s cause of rail transit.

On May 31, 2009, the ceremony for the delivery of the first train for Nanjing Subway Line 2 jointly designed and manufactured by CSR Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Alstom Co., Ltd. was held at the Nanjing small vehicle base, with the participation of Tao Yunnan, Party secretary of CSR Nanjing Puzhen; Wang Xiaoyang and Shi Qingsong, deputy general manager of CSR Puzhen; Zhu Ziqiang, general manager of Nanjing Metro; as well as relevant leaders from Shanghai Alstom.
