The informationization application level of Baosteel has reached Level A

Days ago, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) promulgated the evaluation outcome of the informationization application level of the central government-owned enterprises: the informationization application level index of Baosteel in 2007 is 92.

28 reaching Level A, occupying the third place among 145 central government-owned enterprises, which were mobilized for this evaluation, and occupying the first place among the metallurgical enterprises. This symbolized that Baosteel has reached the leading level in China in aspect of informationization application in steel making activity as her principle business and approaching the advanced level in the world.

It is reported that this is the very first time that the SASAC launched the informationization application level campaign among the central government-owned enterprises, 5 Levels were determined, Level A is the top level among, 10 central government-owned enterprises were ranked with Level A, the top three are the China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COCSCO), the Chinaunicom and Baosteel Group Corporation respectively.

Mr. Li Rongrong, director of the SASAC delivered his approval specially and congratulated the enterprises on their Level A awarding. P.S WISCO and Anshansteel occupied the eleventh place and thirty-seventh place respectively.

In the light of the evaluation procedures issued by the SASAC, on five major indexes such as the leadership in the informationization, foundation construction of the informationization, the informationization application and effection, IT service management and IT superintend and human resources preparation for the informationization and 19 subitem indexes, 107collected indexes and 208 problems of collected data, the evaluation group started its evaluation and worked out the annual average informationization level indexes of each central government-owned enterprise.

14 subitems of Baosteel out of the subitems were ranked as the excellent level, among which 4 major indexes such as the technical system structure networks, informationization of the principal business, integration level of informationization and IT performance management were holding on the first place, the rest of 5 subitems were ranked as the excellent level.

Experts from the general office of the SASAC came down to Baosteel specially for reevaluation of the informationization level in situ, conformity rate was 100% as result.

Since the time when it was foundered, Baosteel has been searching after the construction way of informationization ceaselessly, remarkable achievements have been achieved. Especially, since the time when the new round of development strategy commenced. Taking "Facing the global competition, heightening the soft strength to realize the development in great leap " as her high light, Baosteel has formulated her new round of informationization schedule, taking the schedule as the target, Baosteel is devoted herself to the informationization management innovation and development, by the end of last year, Baosteel has already established the integrated management and operation system, two management layers with respect of the headquarters management level and branch (subsidiary) company management level has taken shape preliminarily and also initially, three supporting targets such as supporting the management innovation, the assisting the integration and accelerating the popularization etc. Basically, 4 platforms such as the computer resources platform, internal data exchange and integration platform, network monitoring platform, application development platform have been established covering the fields involving the financial affairs, marketing and Logistics management and controlling, project construction, human resources and official business handling. Last year saw the annual informationization completion rate by Baosteel reached 95%, informationization application has rooted in entire activities of management, production and operation by Baosteel.
