The First "Baosteel Training Prize" Conferred

The first "Baosteel Training Prize" was unveiled on the meeting to celebrate 24th Teacher's day yesterday. Vice chairman and Party secretary Liu Guosheng of Group Corporation attended the meeting. He congratulated Baosteel's teaching staff, thanked them for their active contribution to Baosteel's talent fostering and conferred the prizes on the collectivity and individuals who got "Baosteel Training Prize".

The assessment of first "Baosteel Training Prize" was jointly sponsored by Talent Development Institute and Human Resources Department of Group Corporation. 50 advanced collectivities and individuals were selected for the prizes of 5 categories, i.e. Excellent Training Organization Prize, Excellent Training Project Prize, Excellent Training Course Prize, Excellent Teacher Prize, Excellent Part-time Teacher Prize and Excellent Part-time Teacher Nomination Prize.

Baosteel Branch that tops the list of Excellent Training Organization Prize got the highest scores in 5 aspects including organization and fulfillment of training plan, carrying out training work in combination with its own characteristics, fulfillment of cross-department intern training within the Group Corporation.

The chief engineer of Baosteel Research Institute Guo Chaohui tops the list of Excellent Part-time Teacher Prize. He not only actively participates the course development and design of Talent Development Institute but also wins the trainee's unanimous favorable comments by visually teaching the trainee his specialized technologies and innovative methods in exoteric and vivid language.

In the celebration meeting, Liu Guosheng fully approved the achievements of Talent Development Institute. He said, it is one of Baosteel's most valuable experiences in 30 years to attach much importance to education and training. In the past two years, Baosteel's education and training have achieved important breakthrough.

The major achievements accomplished in Baosteel's corporate development is based on the notable achievements of Talent Development Institute. In respect to employee skill training, Talent Development Institute has provided important support to Bayi Steel, Stainless Steel Branch, Special Steel Branch, Meishan Steel and Lubao Steel Tube, so that the management training of some units which used to be weak has now been strengthened.

Moreover, favorable results have been achieved for collective training of Party member for study and practice activities, serial training for decision-makers, training for Party joining enthusiasts and humanistic lectures; cheerful progress has also been scored for management research and employee innovation base which are carried out by combining management training with management diagnosis.

Liu Guosheng pointed out that the function of Talent Development Institute must match the target of Baosteel's second venture, must be based upon the 4 basic links, which are project construction, production and manufacture, marketing, R&D training, to drive the joint creation and sharing of knowledge, must be aimed at internal Baosteel to further improve the education and training capability from the perspective of training people and improving people. Talent Development Institute should take the lead to adhere to and carry forward Baosteel culture, create learning type organization and implement the scientific outlook on development with human as the base, striving for building the first-class enterprise university in the world and providing more solid talent training support to Baosteel's second venture.
