Write: Tempest [2011-05-20]

On May 30, the thinnest and fastest lines for sheets in the world the continuous annealing line and No.2 electrolytic tin plate line of Baosteel Branch's Cold-rolled Steel Sheets Plant successfully reached the designed indexes for output, quality, profit and energy consumption after 9 months and 7 months respectively since being put into production, breaking the fastest record of like lines in the world to reach these indexes.

The continuous annealing line and No.2 electrolytic tin plate line are the key projects of Cold-rolled Steel Sheets Plant for optimizing the product mix. Their success in reaching the four indexes symbolizes that Cold-rolled Steel Sheets Plant has made a great stride in building itself into the most competitive 1 million tonnage premium packing material production base in China. The continuous annealing line can treat 400,000t of sheets annually, and mainly produces the substrates for tin plates and chromium plates. It also produces some thin gauge CQ cold-rolled sheets. The line has the features of extreme thin product specification, high annealing temperature, fast process speed and high automation level. Its main process equipment is imported, and the state-of-the-art control model and technologies are applied, so that the line can produce 0.15mm thin product and its speed at process section can be up to 800m/min. No.2 electrolytic tin plate line has a designed capacity of 200,000t/y and mainly produces high grade tin plate for food packing. Adopting the most leading process equipment in the world, it can plate the strip up to 1050mm wide and 0.1mm thin.
