Baosteel and Hangang ensure Han-Bao No. 1 BF taps successfully

At 10: 18, April 18th, one of the main Han-Bao 5-million-ton quality steel projects No.1 3200m3 blast furnace was fired and successfully tapped the first heat of high quality liquid steel at 16: 58, the next day.

No.1 Han-Bao BF project was started on Feb. 22nd, 2006 and its designed annual capacity is 2.57 million tons. One campaign length is 20 years and the overall technical equipment has achieved the state-of-the-art in China. No.1 BF has been designed by WISDRI, while CFMCC, 22MCC, Huaye and HPMCC have undertaken the construction for BF body, hot blast stove, blower station & circulation water system, coke & ore bin and so on.

Further more, the raw material yard with the capacity of over ten million tons, No.1 360m2 sintering machine as well as No. 1 & No.2 coke ovens, which are incorporated with No. 1 BF, will be built up and put into operation in the near future.
