Ms.Xie Qihua Addressed at GE Women

GE Women's Network Asia Summit 2007 was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia a few days ago. Ms.Xie Qihua, former chairwoman of Baosteel Group Corporation was invited to deliver a keynote speech with the theme of Addressing the Challenge through Innovation at the summit, which attracted a lot of attention. About more than 200 female representatives were present at the meeting.

GE Global Women's Network has developed over ten years with 125 branches across the world. The annually held women's summit shows the great concern attached to female employees by GE.

During the summit, Ms Xie Qihua made an introduction on how Baosteel became a pioneer in the course of enterprise transformation when china's economic policy changed from planned economy to market economy and Baosteel's development to rank in Fortune 500 through innovations in philosophy, management, mechanism and technology.

She also exchanged with the other participants about Baosteel's woman employee's role in innovations. Ms.Xie wishes Baosteel's women association for women engineers, women economists, women accountants and women technicians to make frequent exchange with GE Global Women's Network in order to make contributions to the growth of women and to the corporation between Baosteel and GE in a long term.
