Baosteel's No.3 Hot Rolling Mill started operation

Baosteel's No.3 Hot Rolling Mill started operation on the morning of 18th, April.

No.3 hot rolling mill is a significant construction project of "the eleventh five years plan", and the only hot rolled strip project designing& producing high grade oriented silicon steel in China now. The designed annual output of hot rolled coils from this mill is 3.75 million tons and finished coils of 3.6925million tons with a series of key product varieties including high grade non-oriented and oriented silicon steel, hot rolled phase -change strengthened high tensile steel and hot rolled low-alloy high tensile steel, etc.

No.3 hot rolling mill is a model project showing independent integration and technical innovation of Baosteel. With the purpose to build a most competitive hot rolling line in the world, Baosteel has applied 10 new technologies in No.3 hot rolling mill such as strip profile control, free rolling separate feeding into the furnace for hot &cold slab, cross rolling, heat accumulation burning, etc which provide a good foundation for ensuring highly efficient, low energy consuming and stable production and achieving free rolling and precise control.

The successful start-up of No.3 hot rolling mill is a sign of successful completion of a project and also a symbol of good beginning for modern production.
