Recently Baosteel Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Baosight Software Co., Ltd. have been officially appointed by Ministry of Technology, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) as the first batch of experimental enterprises for innovation in China. Now Baosteel relevant department starts to make implementation plan for this experiment. To fulfill the requirement of the Fifth Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee and the National Technology Convention, to promote the "technology innovation orientation project", Ministry of Technology, SASAC and ACFTU decided to promote the innovation enterprise experimental project this year. The rest of the companies that were appointed together with Baosteel are: CASC, SINOPEC, Haier Group, HUAWEI Co., Ltd.. Steel Research Institute etc., altogether 103 enterprises. The appointed companies have outstanding performance in technology innovation, brand innovation, system innovation, operation management innovation, idea and culture innovation. As one of the key tasks of the"technology innovation orientation project", the innovative enterprise experimental project is centering on strengthen the self-innovation ability of the enterprise, exploring the effective models and methods to achieve that goal, supporting the enterprises for their innovation activities, promoting the connection among production, study and research, generating various kinds of sample innovative enterprises, guiding more companies to develop on the way of innovation so as to support the goal of strengthening self-innovation ability, speeding up economic restructuring and the change of growing model, building an innovative country. Following the requirement of Ministry of Technology, SASAC and ACFTU, Baosteel is making an experimental plan focusing on R&D ability development, innovation strategy and management, etc. SASAC will investigate Baosteel for its innovation task in the near future.
