Baori Wire Phase II Project Completed and Put into Production

On the morning of 29th October, a festive atmosphere is overflowing at Baosteel Group Baori Wire in Nanjing: via 5 months construction, phase II project of Baori Wire has been smoothly completed and put into production. Present at the on-stream ceremony are: Mr. Ma Guoqiang, vice general manager of Baosteel, Mr.

Ma Li, deputy director of Nanjing Economic & Technological Development Zone Administration Commission, Mr. Feng Jinyao, chairman of China Fasteners Association, Japanese share holders of the JV of Baori Wire, representatives of Korean equipment suppliers and over 100 representatives of relevant designing and construction units.

The phase II project is a specific measure of Baori Wire to make itself a leading maker of high end cold-heading wire of China and to achieve expansion and strengthening. In the recent years, with the rapid development of automotive, electric and mechanical manufacturing industries at home, the demand for high-grade fasteners is continuously increasing.

With Phase II project of Baori Wire on stream, there will be an additional 8000 ton/year capacity for heat treatment of high end products, bringing the overall annual capacity from the current 28,000 ton to 36,000 tons and the proportion of high end cold-heading wire from the current 40% to over 60%.
