On the afternoon of 25th June, Chinese "Brand Promotion" vehicle group made up of sedan cars and minibuses of domestic brands slowly drove into Baosteel Research Institute, marking the official commencement of the 4-day activity of Shanghai station with the theme of "Brand - innovation, leading & development". Mr. Gao Hucheng, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Hu Yanzhao, deputy mayor of Shanghai, and Ms. Xie Qihua, president of the board of directors of Baosteel, delivered speeches in the commencement ceremony. Also present at the ceremony are: Baosteel general manager Xu Lejiang, Party Committee vice secretary Ouyang Yingpeng, Baosteel Ltd. general manager Ai Baojun, vice general managers Fu Zhongzhe, Dai zhihao and Cui Jian, and principals of Shanghai relevant committees and key enterprises with independent brands. The "New Commercial March & Brand Promotion" activity organized by the Ministry of Commerce aims to promote the construction of independent brands. The activity was officially started in the China Millennium Monument in Beijing on 11th June. The vehicle groups formed by reporters, social volunteers, enterprises and consumers carried out the "Brand Promotion" publicizing activities in an all-round manner, in 5 lines: "eastern open brand promotion", "midland growing up brand promotion", "western developing brand promotion", "northeastern revival brand promotion", and "Chinese brand overseas promotion". The "domestic promotion" is focused on important commercial activities and famous independent brands of various places, for which the vehicle group of "volunteer pioneers of brand promotion China" will travel through 51 cities, covering over 14,000 km in 129 days. Xie Qihua, on behalf of Shanghai brand enterprises, wished the abundant fruits to the "Brand Promotion" activity. She said that it was the result of over 20 years' hard work and enthusiastic devotion that Baosteel built the "Baosteel" brand, a brilliant independent brand of China. Xie Qihua expressed that Baosteel would improve further its sense of independent brand, promote the constant development of Baosteel's independent innovation and independent brands to make due contribution for the rising up of Chinese domestic brands and building of brands of world level.
