Baosteel Has Independently Developed 90% of the EIC System Models

The development of EIC (electric, instrumentation & computer) system has become one of the focuses of project construction of Baosteel s the eleventh five-year plan. During the project construction of the eleventh five-year plan, Baosteel has largely boosted the independent development on EIC system software, and the range has already extended to the important construction projects, such as iron making, steel making, hot rolling, cold rolling and so on. Among which, Baosteel has self-developed more than 90% models for the revamping projects of No.4 blast furnace, No.3 hot rolling mill, No.4 continuous casting, No. 2 steel making, etc. At present, Baosteel s ability of self-developing the EIC software has been ahead among the same occupation in China and even attained the advanced level internationally for some projects.
The EIC system software is the application software of basic automation and computer system used by production, management and administration, which is called as the central nerve of modern production lines. In order to increase the enterprises core competition and improve the product s quality continuously, Baosteel has roundly developed the independent integration field of EIC system.
All important construction projects of the eleventh five-year plan have attained successful results on the independent development of EIC system, not only from basic automation to process control computers but also from system programming to model development. For the ECI system development of the eleventh five-year plan projects, Baosteel s branches have self-completed the development for almost all mathematical models, including blast furnace model, continuous cast model, converter model and steel rolling model, etc. For the moment, Baosteel s branches development on mathematical model has progressed from to transplant to research and development, from single department to multi departments and from local unit to overall units. It has made the reinforced base to attain the production output, standard and efficiency by transplanting and realizing all kinds of new technologies and new progress on all new production lines.
Meanwhile, through developing the mathematical models of silicon steel and dead hard steel, Baosteel has strengthened the storage of new technology, boosted the development of new products of high technology and further increased the competition both in home and abroad markets.
