Baosteel Ltd. Stainless Steel Branch Sees Breakthroughs in Scale, Variety and Quality

Baosteel Ltd. Stainless Steel Branch forcefully pushes forward the various works of production operation. Remarkable achievements were made in scale expansion, quality improving and variety development in the first quarter of the year. The enterprise is gradually improving in profit-making ability. In last March, Stainless Steel Branch carbon steel production broke through 170,000 T and stainless steel production broke through 90,000 T.

Fully exploiting the advantage of Baosteel's integration operation, Stainless Steel Branch has increased investment in new product R&D and production. It has started to supply stainless steel for railway lorry in batches to the lorry manufacturers appointed by the Ministry of Railways. It has successfully entered the high-end market of steel for international automobile exhaust system since its automobile exhaust pipes passed the quality certification by Volkswagen German Headquarters and a contract was signed to supply 2200 T of products to them for the first half year, Special stainless steel for container body has been put into batch production.

Apart from these, new products, such as stainless steel for city building water tank and household water heater, bacteria resistant ferrite stainless steel for medical appliance and stainless steel for elevator panel, have gone into product R & D and market publicity. The stainless steel product system is further enriched and improved.
