4th China International Steel Congress held in Beijing

4th China International Steel Congress was opened in Beijing on 17th April. The theme of the Congress was the development of the steel industry in 2006-2010 . The congress included 3 forums, on policy and macro-economic environment, demand and capacity, raw material, restructuring and consolidation, and technological innovations.

Over 600 representatives from all over the world entered into discussions on the stable development and the mutual benefit for win-win of China and world steel industries. Ms. Xie Qihua, Chairperson of CISA and Chairperson of Baosteel Group delivered the opening speech. Mr. Wu Xichun, Senior Advisor of CISA, Mr.

Weng Yuqing, President of Chinese Society for Metals, Dr. Hu Angang, Director & Professor of Center for China Study School of Public Policy & Management, Tsiunghua University and Mr. Ian Christmas, Secretary General of International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) attended the opening ceremony. Mr. Luo Bingsheng, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of CISA, was the moderator of the opening ceremony.

Mr. Xu Lejiang, General Manager of Baosteel Group Corporation, participated in the panel discussions.
