Baosteel Branch UOE Project Construction Started

Baosteel Branch s Large Diameter Longitudinal Submerged Welded Pipes Project (UOE production method) dedicated for petroleum & gas transfer formally started construction on 9th February, when 4 pile-driving machines roared simultaneously and drove 4 steel piles slowly into the ground. Baosteel leaders, namely Mr. Li Haiping, Mr. Fu Zhongzhe and Mr. Zhao Zhouli etc, presented at the start-construction ceremony. The project is designed to produce, with a capacity of 500,000 T/Y, F508~1422 mm, L 6~18 m large diameter longitudinal submerged welded pipes for petroleum & natural gas transfer, or as structural pipes, etc. When finished construction, the project will be ranked first class in the world in product, quality, process, equipment and the key technical & economical indexes. The project will be constructed by MCC5 in two years. It is scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2007.
