On 9th February, No. 5 Rotary Kiln of Steel Making Plant Baosteel Branch succeeded in hot commissioning, which marked that the active lime production line with the largest production capacity of domestic metallurgical enterprises was formally put into use. No. 5 rotary kiln was constructed to meet increased demand for active lime in iron & steel making after No. 4 Blast Furnace was started up. In the kiln were newly built a lime producing system, a lime pulverizing system and a light-burned dolomite pellet system. The design capacity of the lime production system is 1000 T/D; in the system were adopted the energy-saving type burner system which can burn low heat value gas, a main fume extractor of frequency control, which can decrease electricity consumption by 30%, and the advanced integrated EIC control mode. ACRE is responsible for the engineering design of the kiln, BASI for the software design and MCC20 for the construction. In less than 12 months, the kiln was started up, which is nearly 50% shorter than the construction period of No. 4 rotary kiln.
