Recently, X80 pipeline steel of 15.3mm in thickness produced by Baosteel Co., Ltd has passed the test by North China Petroleum Tube Co. with all technology indexes meeting its requirements.
X80 is the top pipeline steel grade, which demands very high strength and toughness according to international standard of pipeline steel. Baosteel Co., Ltd. began to develop X80 pipeline steel in 2000 in order to meet the needs of the domestic market for high-pressure gas transportation pipeline steel and enhance its international competitiveness.
The welded tube of X80 strength grade produced by Baosteel Co., Ltd. meets the requirements by American Petroleum Society with good impulse toughness and welding performance which laid a solid foundation for the application of high-pressure large-caliber X80 pipeline steel in projects.
