The first cargo ship from Malaysia arrived at Shanghai Wuhaogou LNG Station and landed the materials on November 16. After that, a grand ceremony was held by Shanghai Gas (Group) Co., Ltd at the site to celebrate the completion and operation of the station. Leaders from the Municipal Government of Shanghai, Shenergy, Tokyo Gas Group, Petronas and the construction enterprises etc attended the ceremony. Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI) Chairman Yu Zhendong was also among the guests.

With the rapid development of Shanghai, the original contingency reserves for gas cannot meet the requirements. And thus, two 50,000-m3 storage tanks are constructed to enhance the contingency reserves from 2 days to 12 days.
