The 60th Anniversary of Christian Three-self Patriotic Movement Celebrated in Changsha

Over 120 Christian representatives of Hunan province gathered in Changsha to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Three-self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches on November 25. The celebration was attended by Li Weiwei, director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, Liu Liwei, vice governor, Yuan Jianyao, assistant governor of Hunan Province and chiefs of relevant authorities from the State Administration for Religious Affairs.

At the celebration meeting, 5 Christian representatives delivered speeches respectively. They talked about their experience of participating in the three-self patriotic movement. They agreed that the development of Hunan Christian Churches is pertinent to that of the motherland., They all felt proud of the increasing prosperity and power of our country.

Director Li fully affirmed the important contributions made by Hunan Protestant Churches to the social stability, economic and social development of the province over the past 60 years, particularly to the province s program of building a harmonious Hunan and making its people better off. She expressed the hope that Hunan Protestant Churches will persist with Three-goodness principles to continue to improve self-management of their own development. They will make efforts to strive for economic independence and to reinforce divinity ideological development and church development.
