On December 4, the Lecture Group of the CPC Central Committee led by Han Wenxiu, head of the First Economic Group of the Leading Group Office for Financial and Economic Affairs under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), arrived in Hunan Province to give reports on implementing the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the CPC. About 2,000 people in Hunan listened to the reports for nearly three hours by videophone at the main venue or sub venues.
The Fifth Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the CPC was held in Beijing in Mid-October, 2010 when the country is to complete the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and step into a crucial stage for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. One important proposition of the meeting was studying the formulation of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
Mr. Han summarized the great achievements made during the period of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", and analyzed the new trends and features of the domestic and international changes in the period of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
He also elaborated the theme of scientific development and the main line of accelerating transformation of development mode, and expounded the guiding ideology, development objectives, main tasks and major measures in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.
The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee will organize lecture groups to give reports in cities, prefectures, and grass-roots units across the province.
